The first Logo was made in
1952 when the fast food resteraunt was opened by Colonel Harland Sanders.
Sanders died in 1980 but his face remained part of the logo. Replaced in 1978
with a similar logo of the Colonel smiling for better sales. In 1991 it changed
again to a more appealing logo with red stripes. In 1997 it changed to a bigger
picture of the Colonel wearing a white suite. In 2010 it changed to a logo
including the Colonel with an apron on. While through the changes of the logo
the Colonel and the Red colour remained to make KFC a well known logo. KFC to make the logo bigger so in 1978 they added chunkier, bold and bigger writing. In 1991 colour was added to make the logo stand out more. After the Colonel died the name Kentucky Fried Chicken was changed to KFC in attempts to make the company to look healthier. the colonel and the colour red became the face of KFC. before 1997 a bigger picture of the colonel was displayed with his white suite. The Colonel was never seen in public without his suit and this was a representation of his life. later after 2006 the Colonel was shown in an apron to remind the public of his culinary skills. Personally I prefer the before 1997 logo. It was a much more accurate representation of the colonel and I think the white, red and blue works better than the black, white and red.

Post Three: Current Design Positions
There are a big variety of current design positions today.
An Art Director is one of the most important positions available. An Art
Director can work in television advertisement, magazines, books, billboards and
newspapers. Their Job is to oversee artistic design and make sure work is
submitted on time. The Art Director chooses photographers, illustrators, models
and any props needed. They oversee the work of the photographer and
illustrator. The Illustrator’s job is to create illustrations that represent an
idea or a story through two-dimensional or three-dimensional images. The Art
directors job is tell the Illustrator what to illustrate. They will make a
simple layout on the computer of the design, including the fonts and colours to
be used. Comparing the two jobs the Art director tells others what to do and
the Illustrator is told what to do.
post 2: Copyright Law
Copyright is a highly discussed topic in the design world. "The copyright law of Australia defines the legally enforceable rights of creators of creative and artistic works under Australian law" (Wiseman 08). The copyright laws enable Australian citizens to create works and claim it as their own. If anyone copies their work they can be taken to court if it gets serious. I think this law has a positive effect on society because it stops people from plagiarising others work. Being a student I know the feeling when someone steals you're idea or work. It is irritating and when you can't prove that they copied your work. Copyright can ensure you're work can't be copied.
An example of copyright is a dispute between the Apple company about the Steve Jobs Tribute Logo and three graphic designers who claim to have made the logo. The first claims to have made his in May and the second claims to have made his in August. The third design artist claims he made his on the day of Steve Jobs death. The Third Artists name is Farzi Adeli. He recently filed for a Copyright and Trademark protection. Apple is not worried about him being accepted for his claim because it is illegal to use the original Logo because of Copyright. I think the copyright law should be enforced more because as stated earlier it stops plagiarism.

Adobe Illustrator CS6 |
Workers in the design field are now able to use new technologies. The Adobe Illustrator CS6 Astute is now available. It allows graphic designers to use a faster and more realistic program. It allows the 64-bit to be available on Mac’s and windows. This allows users the use their preferred computer and still use this program. Adobe Illustrator CS6 uses tools such as Draw scribe, Vector scribe and phantasm Cs. Adobe Photoshop CS6 is also now available. It is a fast and easy option to making photos look good and is easy to use for a large number of photos. It uses tools such as Content aware patch, Mercury Graphics engine and a new and reengineered design tools. There is also a new technology called UV flatbed printer. The UV flatbed printer has white ink, which builds up to make layers. This creates a physical and ephemeral quality. It also does not require pre coats. It can print on nearly any material and can have a thicker and more variable surface than an inkjet printer. The inkjet printer does not have a white ink, or create layers. it has a thin glossy layer. however the UV flatbed is very new and unique technology making printing artworks easier.
